Marouf Abouzaki: businessman, family man, chef, entrepreneur, philanthropist - and above all, a dedicated lover of fine food and Lebanese tradition.
When asked about the secret of a good restaurant, he simply says: "Good food, good service and full attention to customers."
Marouf arrived in London as a young man, while civil war raged in his home country. A hard worker, he knew a great opportunity when he saw it - he would bring a piece of his history, a taste of Lebanese culture and cuisine, into the heart of London, where everyone could share in the experience.
Throughout the past two decades, Marouf has created a booming business, a virtual empire of food and drink - popular with fellow Lebanese immigrants, Londoners and tourists from around the world.
While Marouf Abouzaki's achievements in the last two decades might be considered extraordinary, his explanation for the success of the Maroush name has remained as consistent as it is humble: "Good food, good service and full attention to customers."
