Marouf Abouzaki: businessman, family man, chef, entrepreneur, philanthropist - and above all, a dedicated lover of fine food and Lebanese tradition.

When asked about the secret of a good restaurant, he simply says: "Good food, good service and full attention to customers."

Marouf and his wife Houda Abouzaki arrived in London as a young couple, while civil war raged in their home country. As  hard workers,  they knew a great opportunity when they saw it - they would bring a piece of  history, a taste of Lebanese culture and cuisine, into the heart of London, where everyone could share in the experience.

Throughout the past three decades, they have created a booming business, a virtual empire of food and drink - popular with fellow Lebanese, Londoners and tourists from around the world.

While Marouf Abouzaki's achievements in the last three decades might be considered extraordinary, his explanation for the success of the Maroush name has remained as consistent as it is humble.
